“just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please [aresko] God” (1Thes 4:1)
“Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure [eudokia] of His goodness and the work of faith with power, that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.” (2Thes 1:11-12)
“Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification. For even Christ did not please Himself” (Rom 15:2,3)
“Only let your conduct be worthy [axios] of the gospel of Christ” (Phil 1:27)
“But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing [aresko] men, but God who tests our hearts.” (1Thes 2:4)
“For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please [aresko] men? For if I still pleased [aresko] men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.” (Gal 1:10)
“just as I also please [aresko] all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.” (1Cor 10:33)
“knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.” (Rom 6:6)
“For he who has died has been freed from sin.” (Rom 6:7)
“Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom 6:11)

“And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.” (Rom 6:13)
“Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?” (Rom 6:16)

“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Rom 8:2)
“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.” (1Pet 4:1-2)
“And you shall know the truth [aletheia], and the truth [aletheia] shall make you free [eleutheroo]” (Jn 8:32)
“Jesus answered them, Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin…Therefore if the Son makes you free [eleutheroo], you shall be free [eleutheros] indeed.” (Jn 8:35-36)

“For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” (Gal 5:13)
