The Holy Spirit uses difficulties to perfect you and make you into the image of Christ.

“Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the LORD tested [tsaraph] him.” (Ps 105:18)

“For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son” (Rom 8:29)

“But may the God of all grace [charis], who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.” (1Pet 5:10)

“put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him” (Col 3:10)

“And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance” (Rom 5:3)

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials” (Jm 1:2)

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation [thlipsis], that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble [thlipsis], with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (2Cor 1:3-4)

“Now this, Yet once more, indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.” (Heb 12:27)

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength [dunamis] is made perfect in weakness. Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power [dunamis] of Christ may rest [episkenoo] upon me.” (2Cor 12:9)

“and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded [themelioo] on the rock.” (Matt 7:25)

“He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.” (Lk 6:48)

“And you shall remember that the LORD your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.” (Deut 8:2)

“So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.” (Deut 8:3)

“We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” (Acts 14:22)

“being confident [peitho] of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Phil 1:6)
