God cares for the needy. You were chosen and equipped to help others.

“He administers justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the stranger, giving him food and clothing. Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.” (Deut 10:18-19)

“But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great” (Lk 6:35)

“Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?” (Jm 2:5)

“Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” (Jm 1:27)

“The LORD watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow” (Ps 146:9)
