Jesus is the Lord and Messiah, whom John the Baptist prepared the way for and Isaiah prophesied about.

“The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the LORD; make His paths straight.” (Matt 3:3)

“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed [chrio] Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed” (Lk 4:18)

“He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, We have found the Messiah [messias] (which is translated, the Christ).” (Jn 1:41)

“The woman said to Him, I know that Messiah [messias] is coming (who is called Christ). When He comes, He will tell us all things. Jesus said to her, I who speak to you am He.” (Jn 4:25-26)

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD [Adonai Jehovah] is upon [’al] Me, because the LORD [Jehovah] has anointed [mashach] Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD [Jehovah], and the day of vengeance of our God” (Isa 61:1,2)
